1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of https://scrapos.site and the ScrapOS software (the "Service"), provided by [ScrapOS Ltd — registered company name] ("we", "us"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind that business to these terms.
3. Accounts
Portal accounts are issued by us to authorised yard users. You must keep your credentials secure and are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us immediately about any unauthorised use. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or present a security risk.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to break any law, infringe others' rights, upload malicious code, attempt to gain unauthorised access, disrupt the Service, scrape it by automated means without our written permission, or misrepresent the Service's regulatory status.
5. Early access pilot
Applying for early access does not create a contract or guarantee a place. Pilot places are limited and offered at our discretion. Any trial terms, fees and service levels will be confirmed separately in writing before you rely on them.
6. Regulatory information — important
ScrapOS is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA), the Environment Agency, or any other government body. Regulatory dates, waste codes and compliance information on this site are provided for general guidance only, may change, and are not legal or compliance advice. You are responsible for verifying requirements against current official guidance and for your own statutory compliance.
7. Fees
The early access pilot is offered free of charge for the pilot period. We will give you reasonable notice before any paid subscription begins, and you will not be charged without your agreement.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design and branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your internal business purposes. You keep ownership of the data you enter, and grant us the licence needed to host and process it to provide the Service.
9. Third-party services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party services. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and their terms apply to your use of them.
10. Availability and disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, including that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or £[100]. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer where they apply.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims and costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your data, or your breach of these terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms.
